Product not working...

Not sure if this is the right board - so feel free to move it somewhere more appropriate...

I ordered a usb flash drive (paid via paypal) on Monday 9 July.

It arrived on the wednesday (good service), but I quickly discovered it was faulty (files not being saved).

On the wednesday I emailed their returns department to request a returns code, but got no response.

So on the Friday I forwarded my orginal email, asking if they had looked in to it.

On the Saturday they replied to my original email asking, what type of files I was transfering and their size (like that should make a difference???), I replied the same day stating that it affected all files of all sizes.

I didn't get a response so emailed again yesterday asking if there was any news and still haven't had a reply.

So what should I do? Keep on emailing (there is no telepohne number listed on their website + I would rather have the communication in writing!)? or should/can I issue a chargeback through paypal??

Thanks for any advice

As I understand it, recent legislation requires all companies trading to have a phone number on their website. If you can tell us which company it is, I am sure an eagle eyed moneysaver will have some details...?

Ok sorry to dig this up (forgot I had posted in the first place....)
    What company is it?
Not sure I want to say before I have exhausted all routes of getting my cash back

Anyway, still haven't had a response, so went to the resolution centre in PayPal and pasted my emails...

Waited a week with no response, so escalated to have paypal look in to it...

I get an automated response (delivered instantly) - see below:
You have chosen to escalate your dispute to a PayPal claim. By ending communication with the seller, you are asking PayPal to investigate the case and decide the outcome. As part of our investigation, PayPal reviewed any communication you may have had in the Resolution Centre.

Our investigation into the following transaction is complete. As stated in our User Agreement, the claims process only applies to the delivery of goods. It does not apply to complaints about the attributes or quality of goods received. Therefore, we are unable to reverse this transaction or issue a refund.
!!!!!!? - They certainly haven't investigated, where do i go from here? PayPal account is linked to my maestro, so could I charge back through that?

    Thanks for any input
