Most of the big 24 hour supermarkets will bring it out at midnight, don't worry there'll be others like you who just want to grab the book & run. It won't be in their interests to delay brining the book out, there'll be people milling around the book stands or customer services and some might open a dedicted till to it.

Asda have now resolved their problem with Bloomsbury & should be getting their delivery OK & are currently the cheapest so if you are intent on putting a local bookshop out of business by all means go there.....;):rotfl:

I have seen the (accurate!) spoilers...brace yourselves...........!

    Happy Harry Potter Day everyone:T

When the Half-Blood Prince came out, DD and I raced to Tesco in Llanelli at midnight and we were faced with a huge pile of HP books, a security man, and an otherwise empty store - no fanfare, no customers - just me and DD.

I'm not sure I'll be able to get through the book without giving myself a coronary with the stress - I'll have to read the last chapter first so I can relax a bit.
  • This thread made me laugh....he he i thought i was one of very few parents that openly admitted that i too joined the queues to not only get my daughter a copy but myself too! Also i love the version for adults...its the same!

I wish I had someone to go with to get the book at midnight! BF said he would come with me to Asda as long as I don't mind him being battered and potentially taking the !!!! out of me and anyone else in the store with a copy... (this is the man who has gone to bed late every night this week reading the half blood prince to try and finish it before the new one comes out - the cheek!!)

I think I'll just go on my own and do a bit of shopping beforehand ... don't usually go to Asda so sure I'll pick up some other bargains as well as the book!
