Virgin Atlantic damaged laptop claim

Can anyone help please!? My husband travelled with Virgin a few weeks ago and a flight attendant spilt wine on his macbook damaging it. It will cost 500GBP +VAT to fix. He was not given an onboard damaged baggage form so after emailing has been told he should have been given one. This is an expense we can't afford. How can I get some help from Virgin? Any answers gratefully received.

I am sure Virgin will argue that if wine was being poured, it would make sense to close the computer and put it away. If they dropped a bottle on it, then its a different matter0
