Court Proceedings - is it too late?

Hi all,
In late May I was given a parking notice from Car Parking Partnership (Universities), I ignored a few letters and returned to my family home for the summer at the end of June. Having just returned to university, I have opened four letters from PS&P Ltd with the last dated 22nd July 2014.
This letter was a NOTIFICATION OF COURT PROCEEDINGS and said that seven days from the date of the letter they intended to apply for a summons to be issued against me for non-payment of £110. Alongside this I received all the usual threats of increasing the debt daily, bad credit score and a bailiff coming to my house.
I was wondering what I should do about this? Being that the letter was sent over a month ago could they have possibly given up with trying to get money out of me or is it only a matter of time before I get an official court summons?
Thanks.

It's standard practice for debt collectors like PS&P to threaten hell and damnation, it's all lies and bluster, they can't do anything.
If you don't want to just ignore all this read the NEWBIES thread, it contains advice about what you can do once you've reached the debt collectors stage.Je suis Charlie.0 -
Ah found them , Liberty Services. Ok BPA members who have never appeared to do court. I suspect this is an debt letter which you should continue to ignore.

Thanks everyone, since it's been a while from the last letter I think I'll continue to ignore it. Until 22nd July they had sent letters weekly but now they seem to have stopped.0

CPP aka Liberty Printers have never done court and in fact offer a back office facility for other companies and especially university security departments who issue the tickets themselves - not CPP.
CPP, or more precisely their parent company, were acquired by Crapita - allegedly the government's favorite out-sourcing company - earlier in the year but they have never shown the same litigious zeal that ParkingEye, fellow Crapita stable-mates, have in the last 18 months.
In all likelihood the decision to issue proceedings was vested in the hands of your Uni not CPP. PS&P are simply a debt collector who can only ever make their money if someone pays up. With that in mind it is easy to understand why DCA's will threaten all manner of consequences. My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -
Everyone ignores the 'pink letter'. In fact search this forum for 'pink CPP' and you will find this letter chain of drivel discussed and ignored for YEARS!JustAnotherParkingClaim wrote: »Thanks everyone, since it's been a while from the last letter I think I'll continue to ignore it.
