converting .swf files for youtube?

Hi, I have been using the camstudio program to record some videos on my pc and saves the films in two formats, AVI or SWF
The .AVI files are huge and even a short 30 sec video can end up being 1.5GB. Which then takes ages to upload and convert itself.
The .SWF files are small, 40mb for a 30 sec vid, but youtube does not allow this file type to be uploaded.
Does anyone know a good/easy way to keep this .SWF file size small and convert it so its compatible with youtube and other sites please?
Thanks

It takes too long mate
Once the video is recorded in .avi, it sort of transcodes it or something, that alone slows my pc right down and takes some time.
Then i would have to convert the .avi as you say, not sure how long that would take, and then upload to youtube...seems like a long process and my pc is running slow while its all happening too0 -
Try this or one of the similar sites available.0

Just keeps throwing up errors once it reads the .swf file before it converts it to avi (also tried FLV but same error came up)
How would i convert the avi before i uploaded it, i mean what file format would i compress it to, thus making it smaller?0 -
Thanks

Try another convertor
If you use a local option, you'll have to apply Trial and Error to find which output works best for you.
Converting from .avi will get you the best quality. From .swf for speed.0
