Damage claim

Wondering if anyone could give any advice concerning insurance and where I stand with this situation, recently I reversed at slow speed when driving out a space and a woman parked stationary behind me claimed that I hit her car. I didn't feel my car touch hers but she claimed it did. We both observed our cars and there was no damage on either car which the woman even said herself. She still asked for my details however and how much my excess was which i wasn't wiling to say. Stupidly I didn't take her insurance details but have a number and she rang me saying how would i like to pay even asking for a cheque! I said i would deal with it properly through the insurer and she then said it would be 79.99 how she came to this amount i don't know but I'm now worried i have no or little case against her. Im just wondering how this may be resolved by our insurers?

If you want your insurer to deal with this, then inform them of the incident, stressing you are doing so for information only and that you aren't wanting to claim as there is no damage and just pass on any correspondence you get from the third party unanswered on to the insurer to deal with.
Your excess is irrelevant - you don't have to pay any excess over damage to a third party's car.
If the third party does make a claim and you are held in any way liable then this will count as a fault claim meaning you will lose 2 years NCD (assuming you don't have it protected) and none will be awarded for the current year.
If this happens and it's cost effective you can reimburse your insurer their outlay and get your NCD reinstated.0 -

Be sure to tell them you don't accept any liability, and as far as you are concerned there wasn't even any contact.0
