Hi, I realise there are loads of threads about this already but I'm struggling to sift though the conflicting advice and actually formulate an appeal
Last week a letter popped though the door from ParkingEye about an over stay in the Morrisons car park in Aylesbury on the 8th of August
For those unfamiliar its a 2 hours free car park, there are no pay and display machines.
Anyway, I overstayed by 34 minutes because my car broke down and would not start, so I had to wait for a friend to come with some tools to get the old girl started again.
Also, I did shop in the Morrisons, but it was with cash and I didn't keep the receipt.
What is my best line of defence? Does the fact my car was broken down mitigate it in any way?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Your car could've exploded with you in it for all ParkingEye will care, but your breakdown may cut some ice with the store manager, to whom you should complain long and loud (preferably while holding a full carrier bag from Tescos).Je suis Charlie.0

Defence?! LOL it's not a court case (yet). They only happen to people who ignore PE or lose at POPLA and that won't be you if you simply read the advice in the top thread.
So was the letter received by day 15 after the 8th August? Check the dates. I presume you have now read the Newbies thread you appeared to have overlooked (no need for the new thread at all). You only needed to read the top thread in capitals, begging newbies to 'read these FAQs first!'.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
