I am buying a car from arnold Clark I have paid the deposit and was ment to pick the car up on Monday but the called and said there was a problem and that it need a new part and would be ready Tuesday or wedensday but when I rang today they said it's not ready and that there trying to sorce an other car to get the part from and they have no idea how long this will take why won't they jus order the new part

One option - Contact them and give them a date by which they must supply the vehicle (in conformance with the contract - i.e. make "time of the essence") else you'll declare the contract breached, will demand the return of the deposit and may seek recompense for out of pocket expenses.
Look on the bright side - at least they didn't just supply the vehicle then put the problem in your hands. (i.e. you having to complain to them to get the vehicle sorted, whilst they already had all your money. This would be the usual modus operandi of Arnold Shark).
