Is this payplans idea of a joke?

I am going through paypla for my IVA and claiming PPI through their claiming company creedo claims. Now I am fully aware that the PPI money will go into my IVA.

Today I received a message to contact client support so I wondered what for. The lady I spoke to said your getting a cheque from one of your ppi claims. I said oh I wasn't expecting anything. She said Yep your cheque for £1.74 is on it's way.

I said oh okay then.

Are they taking the !!!!? £1.74 wouldn't even get a can of coke and cornish pasty in greggs what is the point of sending me a cheque for that amount?

...Yes, it is a bit pointless really isn't it.

Just adhere to your bit, and send it off you your IP. Every penny counts!!!!

PS: It might get you a can of Coke and a sausage roll at Greggs!!!

Yeah I am making sure everything is done by the book. This is what payplan and creedo claims have deemed I can have of the recent ppi claim that was done which was for a total of £200.90. Creedo claims/payplan take a bit for themselves (i think 5%) the rest goes into the IVA apart from the £1.74 which they so kindly give to me.

Wonder what wonders I can get with it, might go to B&M and by a 6 pack of lucozade and some chocolate buttons.

To be fair, there's a legally binding contract in place, and if that states that you're entitled to a percentage of the interest from any PPI claim, then you're entitles to it and Payplan have to pass it on to you. There's plenty of people in IVA's who would be grateful for any extra cash, however small.

Yes extra cash when your in my position is great but £1.74 is hardly going to help matters, they might as well keep it.
  • I'm with Payplan and they use Equity In Finance... Who happen to take 40% of the amount, I get 8% which is the interest on the PPI less tax for HMRC... Disgusted with Payplan setting up this agreement but there you go.... Don't forget who is behind these companies ????? some of the big banks.... Money goes to Money...

I think payplan use various companies as my ppi company is creedo claims who are almost the same address as payplan (same road anyway). I also think payplan sell your details to other companies as I have had letters from companies saying they can do a better job than payplan.

I had one today from a ppi company saying we know your in an iva with payplan we can get you ppi and enough back to settle your iva early.

I have asked payplan about this company.

I'd imagine all the other companies get your address from trawling the insolvency register to get details to spam.

I did my own ppi claims. Barclay card, who are part of my IVA, kept 92% and sent me my allowed 8% directly to me. When I informed my Payplan case officer she was surprised as the 92% should have been shared among all the creditors. Who would have thought that the banks would be so sneaky!
  • Be careful because if you need to pay it all off by a miracle of receiving a huge amount of money, they will want it back. X
  • I had something similar Halifax (one of my creditors) issued a PPI refund but said they would apply to their debt and distribute among other creditors. Equity in Finance handling the PPI claim on my and Payplans behalf argued the case but it was upheld. My question now really is about the 8% what happened to it?
