Paying return postage on faulty goods?

Hi experts
I bought some forks for my mountain bike in May this year and they have now failed on a fairly common problem.
I bought them online and the shop I bought them from is saying that I have to pay for the return postage and cannot claim it back.
Could someone tell me what my rights are for this? It will cost me about £15-20 to return the item as they are of high value.
Thanks
Steve

Once accepted as faulty you'd be entitled to your postage back. They can make you pay it and reimburse though rather than having to pay for its return up front0
