Looking for a good Laptop and broadband deal.

My friend wants to buy a Laptop for wireless surfing, nothing at all fancy, just forumming etc. Can anyone reccommend a good Laptop on a budget (I dont have a clue on laptops) and maybe a good deal for wireless connection. I have always just stuck with BT (I know )

Interesting that you ask because I have just seen a deal advertised at Comet where if you sign up to Orange broadband you get £300 of any laptop!

PC World are offering a FREE LAP TOP on there website if you sign up to Orange Broadband. And the one I would choose is the COMPAQ @ £99. I would imagine terms and conditions apply though! Check it out

AOL are offering a free Dell laptop if you sign up to them for 2 years. It's mentioned here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=506368 and seems to running through carphone warhouse.
