Newbie last minute holiday help!

Hi all, I'm new to booking holidays abroad and am looking to find a nice last minute deal to Portugal or somewhere similar. I have looked on last minute.com but the deals really aren't any cheaper from what I can see. Were looking to depart on 17 sept (flexible) for seven nights.
Can anyone recommend any places to try to get a nice deal please?
Thanks!

If you want a true package holiday look at Cosmos, Thomas Cook, Thomson, holiday hypermarket.

Also with this Volcano deciding whether its going to erupt or not its risky booking separate components unless you get the right insurance.
