Thank you for pointing out that a BOGOF item also works, I hadn't tried those last night. I'll add it to my post0 -
Just to confirm that it did work for me, I've just got my order.
I got the following:
3 x Sure Deodorant 5.00 (9.87)
Dettol No touch refill 1.52 (3.05)
Nivea Creme 0.67 (1.35)
2 x non offers 1.59 (1.59)
Pre-offer price total 15.86
Actual price paid total 8.78
£3 off £15 spend deduction 3.00 -
TOTAL PAID 5.78
Unfortunately Tesco don't always show the reduced price when you add items to your basket. HOWEVER, the Guide Price usually DOES show the actual cost or close to it.
(I put the 4 products mentioned above in my basket. Some of them showed the actual price and some showed the pre-offer price. I added them up, it came to £13.65. The Guide price showed the total as £8.78 - which was the actual price I was charged for them - before the extra £3 discount).0 -
Just to add, although I think it has been sort of mentioned, that if it gives you a higher guide price when you check out you will end up paying what it is instore so it should go to the offer price when you actually receive it. It may be worth taking a note of what you think it should be and comparing it to the receipt when you get your shopping. I know it sounds a faff but you can check later and ring them to get a refund if wrong. I've never had a problem even if the basket seemed wrong. (It's the same if you place an order before the offer is on, but your order will be delivered when it is on offer. The guide price will be higher but the actual price charged will be offer price as they price on the day.)

Thats not a catch, Tesco has always added £4 if your basket is less than £25.
The issue is that there is an error on there website so no promotional savings are coming off.
I called Tesco and they said that even though my basket of offers says £40 it will actually be £25 when it is delivered tomorrow.
I ordered £30 of half price toiletries (so will be £15 when picked) minus the £3 code and then added £13 off groceries making the total £40 at the moment (£43-£3 code) but will be £25 tomorrow.0 -
Please all check your receipts. Tesco on Friday over charged me C&C and as rushing had to phone Tesco. I knew something was up as they phoned me in the day for a new card number as the other one wasn't going though. I found out it was basically my £25 on the button shop was being charged at £28.36. (I had a visa debit gift card thingy to use so was annoyed all the faffing to get t exactly £25 didn't pay off anyway) Promotions weren't coming off AT ALL. I.E the sheet stated Basket total £28.36 Promotions -£3.36 Total to pay £28.36.

So in my opinion it is a catch that you have to spend £25. £3 off £25 does not sound anywhere near as good does it! If you like to spend that much, then maybe you don't see it as a catch, different people have different ways of looking at things.
I posted this for people who may be doing an online shop anyway.
I spent £8.78 on relevant items to get a further £3 off.
Yes, I then spent over £16 for the £25 basket total but I would have done that anyway. It only cost me £1 to get it all delivered. Much cheaper then bus fares or having to trawl around the store, then lug everything home.
Not everybody has the luxury of a nearby click & collect store, or good health or transport or time.
Incidentally, the £25 does not necessarily mean it is shopping for just one week0 -

I have never done click and collect as I am not lucky enough to have a local store, they have done the £4 charge on home deliveries under £25 for ages which is more than fair to be honest.
Its not a catch, its just the way it is.
