A challenge if anyone (no-one here) thinks that "It doesn't matter which supermarket you shop at, they're all about the same price aren't they?".

Calgon Express Ball Water Softener Tablets (45)

    070903.jpg?v=4
    £11.98 atStore_2.15px.png

    26.6p/Unit

    Add to basket

    Price Comparison

    S [Strike]£12.00[/Strike] £3.00:rotfl:
    A £11.98

That is quite a difference there! Clearly, the supermarkets aren't always "about the same price" as one another.

It is a challenge finding any items that compare best against Sains at the moment (and where S price is itself quite good) as Sains is so expensive on nearly all of its "Basics" range, so have to be prepared to lose some pence here and some pence there on S/P items vs Sains on a Sainsbob comp. However, I will doubtless rise to that challenge!:D:rotfl:

The above price is, apparently, available until 23/9, so I treat as being 22/9 in case it goes off the website sooner. So it looks like this may be only for a couple of days, if the product goes back up in price on sains.co.uk or, possibly, up to nine days (from today) if it disappears off the website altogether(:T) and goes OOS. (Nine days from today assuming that it disappears from sains.co.uk in two days' time;).) Probably only a couple of days:(.

As for what to go onto a Sains comp., here are a few that I thought of immediately:

ASDA Smartprice Cheese Slices (10 per pack - 170g)50p N/A
    ASDA Conference Pears (600g)57p N/A

ASDA Smartprice Brown Bread (800g)45p N/A
(This is in fact A S/P Wholemeal Bread that appears as "Brown Bread". The real Brown Bread which, in least in my area, is the one sold in shops of the "Supermarket" format, some of which are ex-Nettos, does NOT appear on the comp. and therefore is NOT the one you want.)

Doubtless I'll come back in an hour or two with some more items vs Sains.

    :(

Talking of badly behaved people Lutzi - I had a really nasty customer today who wanted me to process some paperwork for her.
I couldn't because she hadn't brought the relevant documents for verification.
    She hit the roof.
I just remembered what that man said on Nothing To Declare

"Why are you mad at me when you made the mistake"

I remained calm & polite (with gritted teeth  ) :D:D:D

I bought a few items last week and can t say I was very impressed. 3 for £10. I bought a roast pork meal, some kind of beef with barbeque sauce and fancy sausages . The first two were rather disappointing and the sausages smelled nicer than they tasted. I ve had all three foods cheaper and tastier.

I don't really enjoy the fancy puddings as I feel guilty knowing how many calories are in them lol. This is when I get the meal deal. Now I tend to get the blueberries and raspberries.

That makes me feel a bit better emerald :o I did go and have a look a couple of years ago when I was given some vouchers, I thought I would get a few nice xmas treats but am such a skinflint I couldn't bring myself to pay the prices :rotfl:
