Unfortunately, my Mum can't give blood either due to a transfusion she received about 20 years ago. The transfusion saved my Mum's life; this is what led me to donate when I was a teenager.

I've had a couple of years off from donating due to going abroad to Africa but I always try and fit it around my schedule.

Seeing blood being given 1st hand is also a kick up the backside.

    :D

I have wondered sometimes whether the blood I've prescribed to a patient is the same blood that I had donated. Chances are slim, but you never know...

That would be weird but very good weird :rotfl:

I am on the bone marrow donation list. I can't do the other one cos my veins are apparently too narrow.

I will make it my mission to donate again very soon

  • Evangeline1971 I think I have the perfect holiday for you. A Nile cruise. We went to Egypt a few years back, weekend in Giza followed by a week cruise followed by a week in El Gouna.

A Nile cruise is many mornings going round the temples followed by a lot of relaxation and eating, your OH could laze around on the boat while you go round the temples. We were totally templed out by the end of the cruise but we had a brilliant time :D

Still expensive thought Pantene, HE glitch constant on a loop for free.
It looks to me like A5DA are now selling Pantene in bottle sizes that are unique to them so this may be a thing of the past.

Is anyone else on the Organ Donor Register? Sounds morbid but the idea of it had always freaked me out- up until this year when I just thought sod it, and signed up. You can't take it with you and all that!

I am. I was automatically added when I applied for my driver's license. I know this is strange, but I want to be taken off of it.
