They're doing it because they are unhappy where they are. I so wish I had the balls to do that

Have they got mortgages/rent to pay? Because having that hanging over their heads with no money to pay it would be a whole different kind of unhappy!
I couldn't do it, no way, I couldn't deal with the stress of not knowing when I could pay my bills and knowing that I'd chosen to put myself in that situation.
Are you actively looking for something new?I did that once but was a few years ago and worked in retail management then, also i had a hubby who was working, he told me to do it actually:T
Got me there on both countsI dont have a mortgage (neither do they) but i still have rent and bills to pay, and i dont have anyone to "support" me either

I also did that, if I hadn't I think I would have murdered my manager, I was part time and he kept putting me down for Saturdays and Sundays without asking me, then doing his but and saying if I didn't work when he told me to he would force me to work every Sunday, he was a moslem and never worked Fridays, didn't like working Sundays either. After getting the area manager involved and thinking it was sorted I went on holiday, came back and found out I was down to work the next 2 weekends. I suspected this would happen and had my resignation with me, and refused to work those weekends. Some things just aren't worth it, especially if you have to work for a bigoted idiot. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

I did it, although some while ago now, back in 1999. I left my job and signed up with a temp agency and two temp contracts turned into permanent jobs, both with lovely companies. Since being made redundant in 2009 I've done a bit of contract work for former employers and now just work for myself. It was a bit of a leap into the unknown for me at the time, but looking back it worked out well for me and I don't have any regrets.0 -
Afternoon all!
Just looked at the HUKD link for this calendar. Lots of people are commenting that it's still more expensive on Amazon and they're hoping it'll be reduced there. A quicker way to speed up that process is to use the 'tell us about a lower price' link on Amazon, which is on each product page, under the heading 'feedback', near the 'additional information' section. I've used it a couple of times and it's price-matched the offer elsewhere within a few hours or so. I would imagine the more people do it, the quicker they price-match.
This is probably old news but hopefully it'll help someone.
Arthien/Bubbs - have brought these for the past 4 years at least. They started off with just lego city advent but now have star wars and friends. Loving the Santa Darth Vada - DS will love him to go with Santa Yoda and Santa Darth Maul. In that time the best deals have been -
Boots 2 for 3 offer - these usually feature in their Christmas catalogue and if you make sure all 3 purchases are for same amount as rrp (£24.99) then they work out at £16.66 each. If a group of mum's wanting them then good way to source. Or similar sized lego sets or other boots products as your 3 items. Also some good deals from The Entertainer and Argos. Last year Boots online sold out fast but found them in store end of November so got 3 for 2 and points on one of their special nights.:p
Beware Play.com did the Star Wars at a fantastic price - and yes too good to be true. I waited and waited told delivery in a month. After 2 months got colly wobbles and sourced one at The Entertainer who had a brilliant special on for one day only. Play did eventually deliver it was the shortage year so managed to sell to a friend but too nerve wracking for comfort.
Worth subscribing to the lego deals thread as Christmas getting nearer. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3442919
These calendars are brilliant - if you are new to this and your kid is young there are sometimes lego advent calendar deals of last year's stock. So a good cheap option if you are just starting - but beware if you already have last year's make sure any offer you are considering is for the 2014 edition. Some are very naughty so look closely at the box and make sure its this year's edition (Amazon can be a bit of a !!!!!! with this).
Edit - can see they don't like this word on mse - rhymes with rugger and begins with b. Thought I'd better clarify as it looks far worse than what I meant with the exclamations lol :rotfl:
