Absolutely - go for it, grab the opportunity and just go!! Go now! I don't mean that offensively, I don't want to see the back of you, I love you and think you'll be a great success as an independent country. You know it makes sense! In fact, if there is a vote for independence, I'm even thinking of moving up there myself, before the 'borders close'. Seriously, though, I don't think the borders will close - at least not as drastically as painted - there are places on the Irish/Northern Ireland border for example where all you can see change is the road markings, no physical border.

Really the reason why the countries are as they are is all historical. There is no reason why the extent of certain countries should extend to or be limited to the places they are - it is all just historical and all a creation of human beings. Different economic units of different sizes all have ability to function successfully. Some successful economies have similar numbers of people - Singapore? If you see the weather map on UK weather broadcasts on the BBC and look over the Sea, you can see Denmark - looks similar size to Scotland, though I suspect the size and shape of Scotland has been distorted by the BBC projection to appear less than what it is - this itself would be no longer, under a national broadcaster that focused on Scotland!!

The 'no' campaign are, as usual for similar campaigns, appealing to people's emotion at the last stages. Don't let it! Don't be taken in - the three leaders' pledge - you know it will be stuck in the trappings of Westminster. As for the protecting of shipbuilding and other industry, I understand we've heard these arguments before, the same arguments were made just before the 1979 Scottish Assembly referendum in order to try to make people doubt. And, what did the Scottish people get - did they get a self-determining Scottish authority of its own that could protect and fight for those industries as a nation - no, they got Mrs Thatcher. Coal industries, shipping industries - much diminished ever since.

What the 'no' campaigners are saying in fact precisely plays into my hands (or would do if I had a vote, but that's by the bye). David Cameron said independent would be permanent and irreversible. Good. I want permanent, irreversible independence. That is precisely what I want independence to be. Do you think I would want temporary independence? Absolutely not! It should be full and irreversible, especially so that you get the Government you vote for each time, rather than every time a Government largely determined by England (and, more to the point, a few pockets of the South of England which are marginal seats and where the votes count).

And, as for voting for the status quo, and for "no" protecting the NHS, do you really think that backdoor privatisation would be avoided by having a Conversative government led from Westminster? That's what more often results and, despite the fact that Scottish independence would almost certainly mean a perpetual Conversative government for England, Wales and Northern Ireland, I still think Scotland should take the opportunity and become independent. Take the control away from the current control of funding by Westminster, and take it for yourselves and that way Scotland, you will protect your NHS more effectively.

Indeed, the 'status quo' doesn't seem to be an option anymore - if so, and if more power to Scotland under 'no' - then why not vote 'yes' anyway as that is, indeed, the only way to ensure the protection of the NHS - do you want a Conservative-influenced government from mainly English votes to be left with that and do you trust such a government to deliver it for you?

Gordon Brown says do you really think that they (Labour) would allow privatisation in the NHS? Well, they didn't stop privatisation of the Royal Mail did they?

The answer is Yes, I think they would allow the NHS to be privatisated. So, Scotland, take the choice and vote YES to avoid all that possibility and, indeed, that risk!

As for setting up conflict, hasn't anyone heard of international cooperation? We would be best allies and would I am sure be in support of each other most often, whilst each having control to do what is best for ourself. I am sure that, if a vote was for independence - and it needs every vote it can get - so VOTE YES - once that vote was the outcome, it would concentrate the minds of people and work to ensure Scotland is a success.

I want you to take independence and wish you all success. So, certainly do not get the impression and I am sure you have not, that all English people want Scotland to remain in the UK.

This is a great opportunity - for radical change, to make things for the better. All too often the problem is that any change is incremental and very slow, and it needs a radical shake, if importantly to shake the minds of those with vested interests in preserving and maintaining the current arrangements (of being in the UK) - such as it might be said 'all these politicians that hold, or have held, seats in Westminster governments'. There is no reason to preserve the UK necessarily. Remember that when the Union was formed in 1707, if there had been a referendum then, the Scottish people would have very substantially voted against joining the Union in the first place, as would those in England. They talk about industrial revolution but, to be fair, the industrial period and the middle ages are two different time periods. We are where we are - and Scotland and the rest of the current UK (which does not have to stay that way perpetuity) are where we are and there is now a great opportunity for both parts to prosper separately, do not be influenced by emotive terms that say this is a "divorce" when it is not similar to that at all!

VOTE YES.

DH and DD1 gone off to an adult cookery class tonight - god knows they both are in need of some lessons but I pity the poor teacher as there is bound to be lots of banter flying :rotfl:

They're matchbox sized TS - bc ends 319 4. Defo would not pay a fiver for one :eek:

Oh booger I could not have heard barcode properly when Truffle Hunter phoned me. Thanks for info.

Although I don't remember either car having any silver colour. Store is being revamped and no working wall scanners anymore.
