Wonder if anyone can offer my son some advice please
he has a two year fixed deal coming to the end on the 30th November, he wants to remortgage on line with them, not changing anything term or amount, but there are some good deals at the moment and he wants to tie in again before they change again
He paid his mortgage today, so what is the earliest date he can apply?, he has been told three months or twelve weeks but no one can give him the exact date He has tried online today but said he may be charged a fee

I'm in the same boat. My mortgage deal with halifax also ends on 30 November. I logged in today as the bank say you can change your deal when you have three months or less left. It wouldn't let me progress the application either. I will try again tomorrow. The fixed deals that halifax are offering are fixed until the end of January 2015. These are likely to be withdrawn/altered about 6-8 weeks before the end of the fix if that makes sense. Keep trying, if nothing by Wednesday, make a complaint direct to halifax. Keep this thread updated!0

He logged on and it let him through this morning, took him on to another page, an option of two deals popped up, picked one after consulting his wife, ticked the box and they said they will send him an email, then the offer out to sign, well both parties should come in the post
Think he is relieved to be tied in again0 -
Same with me. Logged in and was able to progress the switch request. Fingers crossed.0

One imagines that they get a considerable workload at the beginning of every new month and systematically work they way through the applications.0

Son rang Halifax and they said the online team hadnt keyed the data on and they couldnt trace the application, does this mean he has a problem or doesnt meet the criteria somehow. He can go into branch but works away, would he have to make a full application again, eg meet the affordability checks. Has anybody else had problems usuing their on line switching service ?0

So I selected my product online by filling in a few details. The system worked out my ltv and monthly payments amounts. I received an email from halifax explaining the rest of the process. Within 48 hours I received my key facts info and had to sign and return a consent form. The forms and info also arrived by post a few days later. I signed the consent form and sent it back. I hadn't heard anything so I phoned this week and they can confirm they have the consent form but have not processed it yet. If nothing by next week I will chase again.
Has your son got the email and paperwork I have outlined? If so, is it the consent form they have not received. If they haven't got the form use the paper copy or re print the electronic firm and send it off again. If they have got the consent form and haven't got round to it (like mine) then give it a little longer.
They must be able to trace application if he has email etc. to avoid the mmr rules keep it to online only.0 -
If it's online, it's non-advised and no affordability checks.
