Endsleigh charged for call after giving (implied) free to dial number?

I rang endsleigh on my mobile (don't have a landline) to renew my car insurance on 08000304512 and the automated lady said that this number was not free to dial from mobiles so I should ring the same number without the first 0. I've just looked at my recent phone charges and it's cost me a fiver! I know it's rare for mobiles to be free to such numbers, but surely getting me to ring the new number like that implies it's free? Is it worth chasing this up with Endsleigh? At best I might get my fiver back, at worst it'll flag up that that's quite a misleading statement. I was on the phone for 30 minutes however, so unless that is actually quite cheap for mobiles (17p/minute).

Pretty sure that message would have been the network provider, nothing to do with Endsleigh.0 -

Yeah i had that message when i tried dialling an 0800 number it tells you to redial without the zero.
But it wont be the person your calling. It will be the network.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Thanks! I did try saynoto0870 but it didn't come up with anything (I assumed it covered 0800 too but perhaps not). I'll have to try some of the other ones listed there too next time.0
