Please Someone Advise Me!! Bank Charges Offer

:money: Hi,
Need some advice,

I have taken Halifax to court for my girlfreind and started proceedings about 2 weeks ago and have just received a letter saying we can have 1637 pounds but we asked for 3242 pounds plus 795.98 interest so total just over 4000 pounds, my girlfreind rang halifax and they said ok we will pay a maximum of 2450 pounds and we wont pay anymore.

my question is, they say they will pay the 1637 into her account what ever we decide as a good will gesture?? does this mean we can use that money and have to pay it back if we lose at court?? is it worth just accepting the 2450 pounds offered or should we just carry on court proceedings and go for the full amount plus interest?? any help would be great.

Really need to know what to do asap.
