Smart Meter Install Failure
Options
They came today to install my smart meter but they couldn't do it because the mobile data connection wasn't good enough. I am with Tesco that uses O2 and they also use O2, near the consumer unit I get one or two bars on my phone but apparently this wasn't good enough for them. Sometime before the end of the year I expect to get world class broadband (600+Mbps from B4RN), will I be able to install something to boost or divert my mobile signal so the smart meter will work?

Phone signals are based on a percentage and a bit exhange rate, if the BER is poor then we are told not to go ahead with the install. That being said we use the vodafone network rather than the o2.
My work phone is also on vodafone and is my handheld device, my phone can have a full signal and I don't have a signal on my HHT or the smart comms hub.
Generally speaking, unless the signal is better, its not going to work.0 -
My installer told me that the system often fails if a number of meters are trying to register at the same time. Usually the Trilliant hub has several SIMs. Maybe they did not try had enough. That gum you like is coming back in style.0
