Advice? second hand warranty
Hi all,
Looking for a bit of advice!
Bought a Fiat 500 Abarth from a genuine dealership about 30mins drive from where I live. 3 months later the car has suffered an electrical fault. Completely dead, won't turn over. Gone.
They have agreed to find the fault and fix it....if I get the car to them.
How am I supposed to get the car to them if it won't start! I have also called my breakdown company but as I don't have Homestart they can't help even if I now upgrade my policy or pay a one off fee.
Does anyone have any ideas? Should the garage need to come pick up the car as it's completely dead?
Not sure where I stand in all this!

If you don't know anyone with a car who could give you a tow, why not ask the dealership?
Explain the situation to them and offer to pay their towing fee.0 -
Flat battery? That's the most common cause for "completely dead" (by which I take it you mean no electrics are working?)
If it is then get a neighbour, or local garage if needed, to give you a jump start. Should be free from a neighbour and a lot cheaper than a tow from a garage.0 -
I'd check the obvious like fuses, cable connections, battery condition etc its the sort of thing anyone with the ability of sight can do and will mean you not having to pay the garages diagnostic charges straightaway.0

Buy a multi-meter, and if after checking the battery, connections, earth straps, fuses etc you can hire a recovery truck for less than £100 and deliver it yourself."Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0
