Internet Explorer 9

I am using IE9 on my desktop running Vista. I understand that IE9 is the latest version which will run on Vista. Are there any security updates I can download? Can security updates be downloaded automatically? I can't remember when I installed IE9 if there was an option for automatic updates. Any advice will be gratefully received.

Any updates to IE9 will be part of the normal Windows updates.
If you have them turned on then you should get notifications that updates are available (depending onthe settings).
I can't remember where the option is on Vista, but a quick Google willl show you.

  • As stated, all Internet Explorer security updates are released during windows updates. If you want to do a manual check for windows updates on Vista click on the following:

    Start
    Settings
    Control Panel
    Windows Updates
    Check for Updates

You can also change the settings to make Vista automatically install the updates.

Thanks. I have checked Windows Update and I can see that updates for IE9 have been installed. Thankyou to you all.
  • I'd suggest upgrading to a better browser, such as Google Chrome. You'll find that newer websites won't render very well in IE9, and you'll end up with issues the longer you continue to use it.
