Lidl hedge cutter return

If I buy a hedge trimmer which advertises as cutting to 3.9 meters does that mean if I find it doesn’t cut the top of my 2.1m hedge. Can I take it back saying not cutting as advertised?

I would say no as it actually states "Extra long aluminium shaft with retractable blade for a cutting height of up to APPROX. (m): 3.5". Taking that as a guideline anything under that height COULD be excepted as a ball park figure.I would try to check out the cutting speed though as that has been stated as a set rate ;0)

I would disagree with the above as 2.1m is a dramatic difference to 3.5m - I would ask them to substantiate the claim.

If what you've bought is as shown in the picture, why isn't it reaching 2m? The length of the extension bar and the rotating head should easily reach 2+m.

Your hedge is 2.1 high, how wide is it? Is it the edge of the top that you cannot reach? Or the middle of the top?
  • It say's cutting height up to approx. I see that as the height an average person can reach with the tool. Are you on about the top as in across the top? If so I wouldn't include this as it doesn't say it can get up to 3.5 M and also cut at right angles at that point. I see it as just the reach alone.
