help needed- poorly renault clio 1.5dci
Hi
I dont know if anyone can help me but i am desperate for any advice. I have an 04 reg renault clio 1.5 dci, 11000 miles on clock- i have had it a few months and the last month it has been in and out of local renault franchise. At about 2500 rpm the engine seems to lag and judder- then pulls itselft through. It is an intermittent problem but changes in severity- sometimes it causes mild whiplash on driver and paasengers- sometimes you just feel the hesitation on the pedal. The renault folks have put the computer on it and the only fault it showed directed them to a leaky glow plug which they have changed and that fault no longer shows... but the juddering continues. It has been in the garage more than it has been out of the garage recently. I have 2 questons really- firstly anyone have any clues what it could be? secondly am i entitled to give them the car back and ask for a refund- like i said i had only had it a few weeks before the fault started?
Thanks 4 reading this

don't know if this is any help , but...
I have a Renault Megane Scenic RX4 (which I love to bits:D ) but this weekend it developed a fault that sounds a liitle like your description, juddering and not fully going when you accelerate. The other thing though was a warning light (shaped like an engine) kept flickering on and off.
Took it into my dealers today and they have changed two of the ignition coils (don't look anything like coils - they gave me the olds ones!) Fingers crossed, it seems to be back to normal. He said there are four alltogether and at some point I may need to replace the other two.
Might be worth asking, although I'm sure its something they would have checked. Hope you get it sorted. If not I think you are eligible to complain and look into what they can do for you.0 -
OH had similar on his volvo, turned out to be a problem with the turbo when it was kicking in (badly)."It was not my intention to do this in front of you. For that, I'm sorry. But you can take my word for it, your mother had it comin'."

Supermarket unleaded petrol used to do this to my car - when i started putting Super Unleaded in it (as much as it breaks my heart to pay more) it was like the day I bought it! Cornered on rails and not hesitation (although yours sounds more violent than mine used to)
