I use the train every day for work and it is late at least once a month, often more. If you take the small amount of trouble to ask for a customer responce card and post it you can get your ticket cost refunded if the delay was 30 minutes or more.
Arriva are a bit slow to respond and occasionally ignore these requests but I frequently get rail vouchers for my trouble. Today I recieved £20. in vouchers for a delayed train original ticket price of which was £1.80.
So its always worth filling in the cards. Plus... it seems to be making a difference as they are actually getting better at running to time, now if I can only get them to scrap the smelly sprint trains.......

I only travel once a month, but last time I had a nightmare journey from London. It was definitely worth writing a letter to complain = I was sent £80 in vouchers, on a £59 return ticket!
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.
