I've been reading a lot if stories of how terrible PayPal treat people and wonder does anyone sell outside of eBay (like your own site or Facebook) and use another payment method other than paypal.
Does it affect your business and how are customers with it?

Chances are I'm in this thread asking questions as I love to learn new stuff. (Did you know all polar bears are left handed?)

Barclays EPDQ, there is monthly fee.
Still have Paypal as a good number of people like to use it to pay.
Signed up for a Nochex Merchant account - I thought it was a good idea at the time. I've never used it, maybe others do??0 -
I no longer have a website, but I do get a lot of private sales- and in around 99% of the cases buyer wants to use paypal- and I can't really blame them.
I had a Nochex account, had terrible problems of varying sorts and cost a great deal of time and money- so gave up on it years ago. I have looked into various other payments methods, but none look cost effective for a small business.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hi Soolin, I work for Nochex. I am very sorry to hear about your negative experience with Nochex and if you would like to contact me directly to look into this, please feel free to get in contact. I'm not sure if I am allowed to post email addresses here, but you can reach me via marketing at Nochex.com.
Going back to Keaton's original question, most of our customers use Nochex to sell from their own websites, though you can use it to sell on eBay, but do bear in mind that eBay does oblige you to offer PP as a payment method.
Hope this helps,

Cost wise they're all currently much the same. Paypal is amongst the most competitive.
Amazon checkout can now be used on websites. Again, they're priced along the same lines as Paypal. Paypal can get payment to you quicker.
Paypal are actually quite good over the phone at sorting out problems. Only the most extreme cases end up with severe problems..0 -
I have Paypal but also offer PPPay (lower fees than Paypal, so able to offer a small discount via invoice) and PayM (aka 'Pingit') as a whole lot of Banks/Building Societys now link to the PayM system. No fees for using PayM either.Never Knowingly Understood.

Bank transfer and PayM work nicely. Other than that, pppay.com is a good system, although still relatively expensive.0
