Couldn't get a credit card. Why?

You have very little income & no history of dealing successfully with credit (no credit card account or loan in your name) - two factors that a lender is likely to take into account (in a negative way)..
You husband's loan history will have no positive impact on your credit rating.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0 -
Sounds as though you have a lack of credit history.
How long have you lived at your current address? Are you on the electoral register? Does your electoral register tie up with your time at current address?0 -
I have just applied for the electoral roll.
I will wait a little bit more before I apply again as money will start coming in again from this week.
I am self employed and I don't earn during my holidays also I spent a lot of my money on a holiday and that is why I have so little at the moment.
From this week things will get back to normal.
I should have applied when I had loads in my account.0 -
I doubt that the amount of money you have at any specific moment is that important. They need to know that you have sufficient income to regularly service credit to the limit they are prepared to give you.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0

I will go in and speak to someone then.

Things they like:
Electoral registration
Full time employment/evidence of income
Evidence of credit history (use of credit cards/loan repayments)
As you don't have any of these, you will find that premium cards will likely be closed off for a while. As previously noted, you might find that opening a less than prime card and using it carefully for 3-6 months might be useful in building your ratings.
Although if you are applying for the card because 'money is tight' you'd be advised to stay away from the higher interest ones if you don't intend to pay them off in full every month. Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

I have two part time jobs. The hours of those jobs together can amount to the equivalent of one full time job.
I hate being in debt and I want a credit card for emergency. I am separating from my H so I just want a little source of help if needed.
I tried Halifax Clarity. I thought this was a basic one. Is there another one that is more simple?0 -
Halifax Clarity is still a prime card
You'll need sub-prime:

I should check my credit score with Expedia0
