PayPal limiting accounts.

I've been reading online that PayPal can be terrible to online businesses by limiting account i.e. holding the funds for upto 6 months and basically closing the account.
Does anybody have experience with PayPal doing this or how often they do it?

Chances are I'm in this thread asking questions as I love to learn new stuff. (Did you know all polar bears are left handed?)

I saw this thread and I had a message from Paypal a few weeks ago saying they were limiting my account and requesting copies of photo ID. I presumed it was a scam and ignored it.
However I have now logged in to my account and it says I have 100 days to send this to them. As my driving licence is before they had photographs and my passport has expired I am slightly at a loss what to do.0 -

Verification is something that occurs at pre set intervals, it is something that we all have to do after taking a certain amount of funds or if anything unusual happens.
If you do not verify your account then it will be lost and although you could probably open another one for a while, as soon as PayPal catch you that will be lot as well and possibly with your fuss held for 180 days as well.

Someone I know had to do this and she also had no driving licence or passport, they will take other ID you have to phone them and ask what they will accept. I can't remember what she used.0 -
Thanks for the replies. I'll ask if they would take either the expired passport or something else. I'd been leaving it as I still wasn't totally convinced it wasn't a scam but now I know this happened to others I feel more OK about it.0
