Anyone local to Haverhill, Suffolk (CB9)...

...

and could offer advice on the town itself, schooling (Primary) and anything else you can add that might be relevant?

Myself and my partner are possilbly relocating to Haverhill (work) however its been 12 yrs since my partner lived their and I have only been in Haverhill a few times, but partner is keen, as it is central for jobs in Haverhill, Newmarket, Bury St & Cambridge and also still has friends in the area.

We have 3 younger children, so would love some feedback on the schools etc and what the town iteself has to offer. Hopefully I can get feedback from people who have lived in Haverhill since 2000 and can give positive and negatives to how the town has changed.

Thanks for reading.

Sorry don't know anything about the schools and I haven't lived there but I have lived nearby for a number of years.

Haverhill doesn't have a very good reputation locally, social deprivation more of a problem there than in some of the surrounding towns.

The roads round there aren't very good, you find yourself spending a lot of time going slowly due to weight of traffic, farm vehicles, and twisty turny roads.

If the is going to be a long term move then renting there first would be worth considering.
It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

    Thanks foy your views.

House prices are quite high I notice for the quality of house. I suppose that is due to the location, between Cambs and Bury St Edmunds.
