any savings accounts that can help build credit file up

apologies probably a really stupid question....as the title says.....it just got me thinking as I know nationwide do an account save to buy which some say may make you more favorable to obtain a mortgage by nationwide? are there any other specific savings accounts, that are helpful??

    Not a stupid question - unfortunately no, savings accounts do not help to build your credit file up. But having savings in terms of as high a deposit as possible is advantageous in terms of a mortgages.

    Do you have/had any credit cards, loans or mobile phone contracts? If so and they have been managed correctly then this will have helped build a credit history.

    thankyou - no some of the accounts not managed correctly in the past :( will be ensuring that doesn't happen again - think my only hope is to save a good sized deposit
