Impact on existing tax credit and child benefit

My 17 year old daughters mental health has declined so much that she thinks she can not return to college to do her second year
Will her not going back or taking a year out effect the child tax credit and the child benefit she/we receive for her at all? Seeing as it would be medical grounds
I am scared making her go back in case it further pushes her down but at the same time think it wold be good for her to be with other people

Do not 'make her go back' if she doesnt want to, if her mental health is indeed as bad as you are saying.

I hope that isnt in consideration due to benefits. If she isn't in FT education then you will stop getting those benefits for her I believe, dont think medical grounds makes a difference.

On interruptions in education - she may still be entitled during an interruption in study due to: 'any other period due to illness, disability of mind or body, where the Commissioners find the period reasonable.'
