Mascara Question

Are there any easy to remove mascaras out there?
I've tried quite a few mascaras in my time, I have many I love but many of those seem to be so difficult to remove, either they set like concrete, great for tears and added length but means it takes a good 5 minutes of scrubbing with a designated make up remover (Garnier Express 2 in 1 is the best value I've found) after washing my face, the result is pink sore eyes and puffy eyes the next day- even then I still wake up with panda eyes and a second eye-line on my bottom rim which is about as hard to remove as acrylic paint and I have to attempt to scrub this off again!
Ideally I'd love a mascara which I could take off with my usual foam based cleanser over the sink, I'd like to forgo the second make up remover. I'm using a decent cleanse (but if anyone has any recommendations for a decent cleanser...) I even use a toner and STILL pre-make-up remover get the same issue!
Max Factor, Benefit's They're real, Boots No.7....are some of the main culprits at the moment, it's no one brand, it's most I've tried.
Does anyone have any recommendations? Or am I trying to find something which does not exist?

Honestly? I find that any mascara which is easy to remove is gonna smudge, bleed, transfer, flake… you'll end up with panda eyes during the day rather than when you're trying to remove it. Sad but true.
Have you tried using an oil to remove your current mascara? Sweet almond oil, olive oil, even sunflower oil will do a fabulous job without rubbing. Any oily residue would be removed with your regular cleanser.
Personally, I use a hot cloth cleanser to remove all my makeup and that does a great job on any mascara I've used (Rimmel, Estee Lauder, Maybelline, Soap & Glory, both waterproof and "normal")
In short, I think it's the remover you need to look at, rather than the mascara0 -
Simple Eye Make Up Remover gets a lot of love on lots of beauty boards. Boots No7 two phase one works well with waterproof mascara.
There are mascara which you remove with warm water only. A remover won't work.
I admit to using high end mascara, I hate the hard feeling of the cheaper sort, they make the lashes brittle.0 -
I remove mine with baby oil, works wonders. Vaseline works also2 angels in heaven :A0

The best thing I've found for taking off mascara is Dermalogica's Precleanse. Pricy, but fab at getting off all make up for me. My skin feels much better for it.From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!0

Thanks for the ideas, I'll be working through those! On seeing warmer water mentioned twice, I'm now wondering if it would work better if I used warm water when washing my face- (trying to save on the hot water). I'll try the oils though, and the Dermalogica precleanse I've had samples of in the past, way out of my budget but Christmas is coming up soon...
I use expensive high end mascaras from time to time also when they are given as gifts, with the exeption of DiorShow's Blackout (fantastic mascara, horrid to remove!) they do tend to be easier to remove but at £20+ a go they are also sadly out of my budget for now.
I do have the Blinc mascara, I'd bought it a few years back to use for a funeral (worked really really well actually) but it did flake slightly during the day, not that badly (Borjous is far far worse) and as I have to wear glasses, all the flakes collected in the lower rims of my glasses and now wont come out so I'm wary of reusing that so often. Great mascara for tears though, really works.0 -
I tried using olive oil and got no result other than it irritated my eyes. However I do wear contact lenses and have sensitive eyes, so have to be very careful what I use on my eyes.
I find Simple's eye makeup remover ok. It's not utterly fantastic but it does the job.0 -
I use waterproof mascara and eyeliner and it just doesn't budge with normally cleanser or wipes etc. I recently subscribed to a makeup artist from Ireland on youtube and she said her holy grail eye makeup remover is the Garnier Simply Essentials 2 in 1 Makeup Remover. Its in a blue bottle its like half clear, half light blue solution. It has half oil and half water so you shake it together and it literally removes any makeup. Its to greasy for the face as it leaves a oily residue but great for eye makeup. Oh and it doesn't irritate my eyes as well. Must say am pretty impressed with garnier skincare products.
Edit: Forgot to add that I use the Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm and this tends to remove most of the eye makeup. However I tightline and wear fake lashes so its hard to really get at these parts with a cleansing balm, that's why I use the garnier eye makeup remover first. Just quickly swipe it over my eyes before I cleanse. The Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm is gorgeous if your looking for a new cleanser. Also a good tip is to run your face cloth or muslin cloth under warm to hot water and squeeze out the excess water and then hold the cloth over your eyes for a minute or so. The heat will help loosen/melt and dissolve your eye makeup.0 -
with a waterproof mascara you need an oil base to help break down the mascara and for it to slide off the lashes! Baby oil as mentioned by lisawood78, or olive oil also works. Coconut oil is worth considering but I haven't tried it.0

Thanks -this is the makeup remover I already use(the Garnier), it's as good as the Clinique and Lancôme and Boots No.7 versions I've tried IMO but still doesn't get rid of everything- but I am wondering if it would work better if I warmed up the cotton wool before trying, thanks for the idea

I use Maybelline Great Lash (the pink tube with the green lid) and remove using Superdrug B. Micellar water. I've used the maybelline for a while but since removing with the micellar water there's not ben a panda eye or clumped up stuck on bit in months! Hope this helps!Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!? :huh:0
