Out of interest, as the advance red card disappeared now?

Surely if you apply for the advance, you wouldn't get a new debit card?

I've just been issued a new Advance red card having upgraded on Monday, so you do get a new debit card.

Can someone confirm whether their Advance account shows as 'Bank A/C' on Internet/Mobile Banking?

Edit - It appears you cannot go from Graduate Account to Advance Account, so they've moved me to a standard Bank Account. Now they're trying to move me to an Advance Account. What a pain.

It shows as Advance, but seems to need an overnight update to go from Bank to Advance.

seems more laborious than it ought to be. but as long as the end result is right.. does Premier have all that Advance has?

and the idea of using InvestDirect is interesting. i am an HSBC customer.. and have my SIPP and ISA with III now (having moved from HL)..perhaps HSBCID is an option?

As long as you can live with the reduced range of offerings and the HSBC charges, that would certainly be an option. Not sure what it's got to do with current accounts though.

My account has finally switched to an Advance Account today are a bit of hassle, however now I'm missing the 'overdraft' option on the left hand side menu when within the account.

Not a huge problem, but just seems odd it's disappeared. Never mind.

Don't think I can see an option to apply for an Overdraft online but I am not missing it since I don't borrow (other than for mortgage).

I believe HSBC offer overdraft applications by phone or in branch - http://www.hsbc.co.uk/1/2/overdrafts/apply. Depending on your requirements, a loan might be a lot cheaper than an overdraft,

It used to be an option on the left once you click on your account name. You could increase/decrease your overdraft. It was there for me a few days ago before switching to the advance.

Thankfully I'm wanting to get rid of my £1k overdraft now that I've changed from a Graduate Account with a free overdraft, to an account that charges 17%'ish.

    I guess I'll call them. :)

Hi, I have been with HSBC for 55 years, when it was Midlands, it's still my main bank, but have most of the others as well.
They increased my overdraftto £5k, without notifying me, so I phoned them and reduced it to £250, never used one in my life;;fortunately.
.I used to be a Premier a/c holder,, with £50k + in, travel insurance, free 3 years warrantee on goods, etc, but, downgraded, they said It was to Advance, fee free,?? 10 years ago, but, never been charged a fee, paperwork says advance, and I've just had my letter about new conditions.
I never knew about breakdown cover, etc, so, assumed I was just in ordinary A/c with Silver D/card.
I have well in excess of £5k a month paid in, never knew about the 6% saver either.
Obviously need to look again at this;;Have money to spare, and used most other a/cs., seems 6% saver would be good, if I don't incur a charge ?
Can I upgrade free to Advance.?
Can my OH have 6% also, as it's joint ?
Do they leave all DD's , SO's the same etc.?
Never had any trouble with HSBC, but, £10k a day, limit to one payee is a pain.
