How Long When Switching Energy?

"Suppliers will be required to notify customers that their current fixed-term is coming to an end between 42 and 49 days before the contract ends.
Between this notification period and the end of the fixed term contract, suppliers will be banned from charging a termination fee should the customer decide to switch."
Are these recent OFGEM rules, Hengus? I want to switch away from my current supplier and a fixed tariff that ends in September, however their terms and conditions from last year explicitly state that an exit fee will be charged should I leave on or before the given date.0 -

They all say the same - however, OFGEM states the following:

Wait until you get your notice letter and then start the switching process and there will either be no exit fees or you will remain on your present tariff until the switch goes through.

Thanks very much, Hengus. I'd found a few more newspaper articles stating the same but good to see it from OFGEM itself.0

Hi thx for the info.......I'am thinking of switching soon to 'iSupplyEnergy', who appear the cheapest. Tired of the Big supplier's all being as bad as each other. Would anyone have any views of 'iSupplyEnergy' or using them at the present?
Appreciate any help
Thxjoe2cool0
