holiday / weird refund advice

could use some help please, ive never claimed on any insurance in my life so this one seems even weirder than normal insurance questions.

my "friend" and i decided to go for a foreign holiday,
(set off in a few days time), ive paid for the lot (i know i know ! ) but i get the distinct feeling my friend wont be coming, the texts have been vague and they seem really stand-offish lately, i know they havent been well healthwise lately, so this may explain their behaviour, i will survive and still enjoy my hols but can i claim back her share of the holiday , as this is going to leave me around £500 down roughly ?

If your friend has insurance and its an insurable reason then yes they can claim the money back, if they just don't go then no they can't. Find out if they're going or not for definite and depending on what type of holiday you have purchased you may be able to do a name change and take some one else.
