Question regarding contributions based ESA

Hi

You know that thing where if you have over £6,000 total, in capital and the DWP take £1 a week for every £250, what is it called?

Does this rule apply if you are in the support group and are on contributions based ESA?

I may need to know in future because I will have to advise the DWP if it applies to me.

Please advise, many thanks.

Capital limits do not apply for contribution based ESA.
You can have 6 million pounds in the bank and it's not affected.

If your contributions ESA expire and you are moved to income related it might be worth claiming for NI contributions even if you are entitled to nothing! I believe you need 35 years of NI contributions to obtain a full retirement pension.
