divorce entitlement

Options
Hi,
I'm worried about my dad, his wife of 3 years has just asked for a divorce, they have no children together. My dad works long hours and pays all the rent and bills, and his wife cleans the house or visits her grown up children and other family but does not work, they don't spend much time together, which i guess is the reason why she wants a divorce. During the last year they have purchased 2 static caravans one to use as a holiday home, and one to rent out, the first was purchased on credit with a loan in my dads name, and the second was purchased by cashing in his pension early, the pension is from over 20 years ago and was earned before he met his wife and had already been split in half with my mother many years ago when they divorced. My dad is heartbroken that his wife has left him and i'm worried he will just let her take everything. I am happy for her to have what she is entitled to but i don't want my dad to end up with nothing or in debt as has happened in his previous marriage, he's getting older and he just doesn't have time to right any debts and pay for a new pension. Does anyone have a rough idea of who is entitled to what please as i think i need to help him as he doesn't have much fight in him at the moment. Thank you

After such a very short marriage and her making no financial contribution she will most likely be entitled to nothing from your dad. How old is she?

As above, I doubt she is entitled to anything.

I would hope she is entitled to nothing as that is what she has contributed - THEY didn't purchase the static caravans, there were bought with your Dad cashing in HIS pension and a loan in HIS name.

He shouldn't wait around, he needs to get the ball rolling as the shorter the marriage, the more chance he has of keeping a fair share of his assets
