    Er, I'm a chapess ;)

    We'll forgive you that, :D:D

You say you have no power supply?, remote garage? etc? Decent extension cable for your garage or try one of the neighbours if it's in a block.

You can get a portable (battery) angle grinder, but they are around £80 min
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

Aldi are doing an angle grinder now, its a few pence below £20.

This would get you back in within a few minutes - wear safety gloves and goggles though.

Or find a neighbour with one & 5 minutes to spare - a bottle of beer goes a long way in getting this done.

BEFORE doing all this though, buy a new lock. :)

The garage is at the foot of a very long garden, no way an extension would stretch. Hiring sounds a good idea but the nearest hire shop is an awkward journey away so maybe first I will go and chat up the builders next door ...

Without offence you really are making this more difficult than it is. If you had/have builders next door why not simply ply them with tea and scones in recon pence.

If you say you have the decorators in I'm long gone:o:o:o

The building site has been sealed off but they have now got to the point of just doing the finishing touches so left the access gate open. I thought it was a bit cheeky to ask, but they could not have been nicer and used a battery powered angle grinder to cut through the padlock in just a bit more than a couple of seconds.

So Cyclone you are absolutely right :) Dont know why it didn't occur to me in the first place!
