Hi
I received a PCN in the post yesterday from Smart Parking because of an overstay of 30 minutes a couple of weeks ago. I've read a lot of the useful advice on here about PCN's so I thought I'd phone the store this morning and ask to speak to the manager. As it turns out, the manager was on his holiday so I spoke to his stand-in, I explained I had been shopping there for years and was disgusted to receive the PCN after all the money I'd spent there. She asked me if I had a receipt, which I do, and then she asked for the PCN number, then she told me she would cancel it...sorted!!
Would it be advisable to still send the first appeal letter just in case the cancellation never went through for whatever reason?
Thanks for all the help on here:beer:

Wait a couple of weeks but of you have not had written confirmation of cancellation, by day 21 send appeal. Smart will cancel then anyway!Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Yep I would submit online to Smart, the usual template appeal form the newbies thread by about the third week if you haven't heard anything. DO NOT TALK ABOUT WHO WAS DRIVING - HENCE THE TEMPLATE! I agree with Dee, the PCN will be cancelled anyway as Smart don't know how to respond to our template and give up!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
