Thanks :)

    Bleach.

Put it on neat, leave it for quite a while until the mould has disappeared, then wash off & dry.
To prevent it coming back (or at least not too quickly): after showering &
getting dried, make it a habit to dry the tiles with the towel just used - it's easy, it's using something to hand and doesn't take long! But it will prevent a limescale build up on the tiles, so they will look nice & not get mouldy.

That's the idea, anyway. It does work - the problem I have is that I do it for a week or so, then get out of the habit & it is so much harder work to clean the shower cubicle! Doing the towel thing just keeps it clean all the time.

It's not OS but Dettox Mould and Mildew remover is great. Spray it on and leave it a few minutes, before wiping it off.

I think it's stronger than household bleach so works quicker, and contains a fungicide to stop it coming back.

Take care when using it, as it is very strong. Make sure you wear rubber gloves and open the window as the fumes are quite strong. Take care if you have asthma or a similar condition.
Here I go again on my own....

better than bleach IMO is a mix of bleach and bicarb made to make a stiff paste. This will stop it running off the tiles. Using an old toothbrush, apply a thick coating and I would leave it overnight and then spray it off with water. This is an absolutley miraculous mix and I have passed it on to many friends. Just be careful that you don't get it on an acrylic bath or PVC windows as it goes brown (as i found out on a pvc window)

    good luck,

I keep a window squeegee ( Ikea - 69p ) next to the shower and use that on the tiles after showering. It would also work on the glass door if you don't use a curtain.

    Hope this helps

They will get it off the tiles/grout etc, but not off the rubbery mastic stuff that baths etc are sealed with. I don't know of anything that will get it off that.

The dettol stuff is very good, although sometimes it will take a couple of goes with it to get the really stubborn bits off. The shower in our rented flat was awful when we moved in and I never thought anything would clean it, but the dettol stuff did. It also helps to keep the bathroom well ventilated too.

The dettol mould cleaner is also great for mildewy windows, although be careful on paint as it can bleach it a bit.
  • A solution of 1 part white vinegar to 2 parts luke warm water is good for getting rid of mould and black mould:D .If the tile grout is still grubby after you have done your best then use a trainer whitener, the sort with the sponge tip,to quickly paint between the tiles. Give it just a very little while to begin to dry before wiping off the excess,if you leave it too long you will need to scrub the excess of.
For black or powdery mould on walls and ceilings,my roofer gave me a great tip,use the vinegar solution and leave to dry then varnish over to prevent it from coming back through the new paint or paper. Its much cheaper than those specialist mould stop paints you can buy.:D :D:D
