HELP: Parking eye Threatening court

Hello All,

I am in need of some help, Back in June i parked in a Car park at 9PM while I ran in to the takeaway to pick up my dinner and was away from my vehicle for 20 minutes. Due to the Pub next door to the take away showing a world cup football game the normal carpark was Full so i had to park Around the back of the building. anyway I received a Invoice from parking eye for £100 which I appealed. A few weeks late I got a letter from them acknowledging that I had appealed the Invoice and that was it, so I left it thinking that was going to be it.
I have today Received a letter stating that they will be taking me to court unless I pay within 14 days. unfortunately due to myself being on holiday I have exceeded that 14 days.

What do I do????? HELP!!!!!

Complain to BPA (see post 6 of newbie thread for details) that PE never rejected your appeal or issued you with a POPLA code.

Give it a couple of days for BPA to process email, then email PE, telling them I no uncertain terms that you appealed, you had acknowledgement, but heard nothing more. Therefore they must either cancel PCN or provide you with the means to appeal to POPLA. You deny any debt to them and have sent a complaint to the BPA.

In the meanwhile tell us did you appeal as driver or keeper?

There is the possibility to be fair this is an LBCC in which case you need to read more of the newbie thread . (See my signature) and work out of it actually is and then respond according to the instructions there.

Someone else will advise on this at some point today I am sure.
Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Click on words Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Newbie thread is the first post. Blue New Thread button is just above it to left.
  • Thank you so much,

As for accepting liability I did not specify which in my initial appeal. as I heard this is the best course of action.

    Thank you again.

IF this letter is headed up 'Letter before County Court Claim', you should read the 'LBCCC Fightback' thread (a sticky thread collated by Crabman, 3rd thread from the top of this forum) and as well as complaining to the BPA you should get sent to ParkingEye a robust response this week.

DO NOT SAY WHO WAS DRIVING - HOPE YOU DIDN'T IN YOUR APPEAL? You can email PE and they WILL reply on enforcement@parkingeye.co.uk

No need to waste a stamp on the litigation-happy parasites.

It seems odd you say you got a letter acknowledging the appeal though as that's not what PE do, not just an 'acknowledgement'. There is a letter they send out saying they want you to add any more info within the next 14 days...it doesn't include a POPLA code. Isn't your letter merely that standard one that you will read about on other threads if you just Google a sentence from the letter?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
