Don't go all guns blazing at Barclays if it's still on your credit reports either. Phone them up, or write them a letter telling them that they haven't backdated the markers on your credit file.
Just remember, as other people have said, Barclays will NOT remove the default entirely. Your credit file is supposed to show a true representation of your borrowing history, you defaulted, therefore it has to stay on your credit file until 6 years after the default date.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.
ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.0 -
