Carpetright bed problems

Hi.
I purchased a really nice bed from Carpet right about 15-16 months ago costing just over £1000.
The mattress and head board are great. However, the divan base that is supplied is not up to the job. After a couple of months the base started creaking, and progressively got worse.
We are now on our 4th base, and its creaking again! On the last occasion they promised us they would make it extra strong to prevent this creaking. It hasnt worked. I took the opportunity to add 4 draws to the base when it was replaced, which I wished id done after i bought the bed at the extra cost of £100. 2 of the draws fell of the runners due to the construction of the base not allowing the runners to sit correctly causing the draws to collapse. This was fixed promptly and to satisfactory by Carpetright.
The delivery drivers have always joked with us that they'll see us again in 3 months with a new base and they seem aware of the problem with our particular bed.
I just wondered what I can do? Carpetright have been great in supplying new bases and on communication. Only problem is they replace it with another problem base. This is obviously a manufacturer issue. I have no confidence they can supply me with a base that is fit for purpose and can last more than 3 months.
Just wondered what i can do? I cant keep replacing the base forever. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

I would say that they have had there try and you are now entitled to your money back. Money back on the whole bed as it was bought as a complete bed, you don't usually buy a divan bed in 2 parts base and mattresses.
But they may take some money off the refund for length of time that you'd had it for. I'd say a maximum of tenth, as a beds average life is 8-10 years.Helping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0 -
Thanks for your reply.
Would you suggest I just ask for a refund? Or is there a procedure I need to follow? I am waiting for them to get back to me from talking to the manufacturer and come up with a solution.0 -
If no happy solution found, then just ask politely. Come on guys I have this bed 16 months and this is going to be my 5th replacement, I've let you try and solve ongoing problem along with the associate hassle ie waiting for yet more deliveries. How about we call it quits and you give me my money back.
Their obligations are normally Repair, replacement or refund. You've had plenty of replacements so it really is time for a refund.
Give it a try and see what happens.
If they keep pushing for yet another replacement just say no, I really think a refund should be issued now. Just stay calm and polite, that normally does the trick in these situations, the madder and louder a customer gets the less someone wants to help you (in my experience).
Good luck with it.Helping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0 -
If they were to refuse a refund, where do I stand and what would I need to do?0
