The rate of pay I'm happy with for whilst I'm working. I can always do sleep ins for an extra week to make the money up, not so concerned about that. Was just wondering what other avenues were available renting wise x

I'm not willing to just change agency, I have no other means of income right now

I'd go for a house share then .... it all seems a bit short-term and tenuous, so that'd give you the cheapest/easiest route to keeping things easy and flexible.

You need "your own place" in case the job suddenly ends..... if you have a house share, then you can keep most of your stuff there, have somewhere to relax on the 2 weeks off, have a sense of "home", receive mail .... and, if the job suddenly ends you're not floating around in a cheap motel "homeless". You need somewhere to rely on where you can go to.

Thank you Pastures new, I will just have to find a cheap house share. I agree I will definitely need a home to return to after all the work, can't be living in hotels. I have asked the company if I can work 3 weeks on instead of 2 and they are going to get back to me next week. In all probability I'll most likely need to do a week of sleep-ins on the third week though. As long as it gives me the extra money I need, guess that's fine! Thanks for the suggestion x

I've been told I won't be working for the other 2 weeks, no xx
Believe me, the work is out there! Lots of it! I am always getting calls from another introductory agency I used to work for.

The beauty of 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off is you can do another week in between and still have few days off here and there.

With 1 week on and 1 week off you cannot do that and if someone wants a week off the other carer has to work for three weeks.

I wonder if there is anyone in a similar position to you working for the agency who would welcome a flat/share.

The only other thing I can think of is being a lodger on the basis of just being there for two weeks out of four? It is possible that someone might wAnt a lodger like this.
Absolutely, I wanted a lodger like this for my house when I was doing two weeks on and two weeks off, so we would both have the place to ourselves if the rotas were opposite...

Another idea is sign up to PApool which is free, and maybe just contact some of the other PAs on there to see if they might be interested...

Sorry if my replies sounded a bit out of sync but I got confused as I'd just answered your same questions on the employment thread!
