Received first payment of jobseekers, no calculation letter sent

Hi, I received my initial payment of JSA this Thursday the 28th of August. I am an over 25 living alone. My claim began on the 14th. I am already aware that the first 3 days of a new claim are unpaid.
Based on this, from the 14th up to the 27th, that would be 11 days worth of JSA.
For over 25's living alone the JSA rate is £72.50 for a week. At 11 days this would come to £113.96. Yet I've been paid approx £93. A difference of £17. It may not sound like much, but I am struggling to afford food. Something is wrong, yet despite being paid JSA yesterday, I still haven't received the letter showing how they calculated, or miscalculated this.
I believe they have paid me at the under 25 rate. I can't afford to call their costly 0845 line. How much longer does it usually take for the calculation letter to come through?

Many thanks
Kiwi x

The payment would have been issued two days earlier, hence being paid for nine days.

When did you sign on? I think its from your claim date (+3) to your sign on date, not the date of payment.

If that's the case, when could I expect to receive the letter which evidences the calculation?

    Many thanks

We have told you the calculation

    72.5 ÷ 7 x 9

You wont get a letter outlining that, just one saying you are entitled to jsa.

The letter will have been sent but it's called snail mail for a reason! You would have been paid to your signing day, in arrears.

If you need to call the benefits office replace the 0845 with 0345 this is a mobile friendly number and similar charges to a landline.
Forums can be/are a good guide to entitlement and it is good practice to back it up with clarification from the relevant department/specialist with written confirmation to safeguard yourself.
