Hi All, apologies if this seems a dumb question but a 'spinning' feature of one particular rotary clothes airer has made me wonder...
do all rotary airers actually turn in the wind or just some of them?

The only one I have had which doesn't was a portable one. The kind you use when caravanning/camping.0

Agree with the above, I've never seen a permanent one which didn't turn, I think it's only the portable ones which don't.
HTH I could be wrong though....but that's my experience. Thanks to all posters for your never ending help and support:beer:0 -
Thanks for the answers, I assumed the term rotary did mean they spin, just it being highlighted as a 'feature' on one model confused me.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

I guess it all depends on the friction in the base.
Our 'rotary' airer is fixed on the lawn in one of these

Although it spins quite easily when you move it by hand which makes it easy to add washing to it when standing in the same place, I cant remember the last time I saw it actually move on its own in the wind!0
