Toilet Cistern & Pan dismantling success

Hi,
I thought I would share my success of removing rusted wing nuts connecting the cistern to the pan. Access was very tight so unable to freely use pliers, spanner etc.
Instead I used a socket and channelled out grooves wide enough for the wings to fit in to using an angle grinder. Attaching the socket wrench I was able to release the wing nut, albeit taking over 40 mins as i was only able to get a few clicks at a time.
By dismantling the cistern I was able to replace the bottom inlet valve myself saving over £65 in plumbers fee (ps.. I changed the doughnut washer and backplate as well for good measure as they looked as they were almost done as well).
Do people have other DIY success stories we can learn/share from?
