Hi John
Just wanted to say well done for posting your SOA. You have wonderful advice on here and thank God I discovered the OS board, I never realised how much money I wasted, also reclaiming bank charges and just generally using Quidco to change service providers and get cashback in the process! Every little helps, you will be amazed how much better you will feel by making changes every day, no matter how small.
Please keep posting and let us know how you are getting on.

hi there
did not want to read and run. Just wanted to say "Well done". Very touching thread and you will all be okay am sure. Stay on this site as it is fab and believe me I was pretty low last november/december. Debt round my neck. £9500 but still it is hard what ever the amount is. working our hardest every week to try and clear as soon as we can.
my hubby mentioned last year as long as we are okay, that's me ,him and the 3 kiddies then thats all that matters. For a while we where just paying our mortgage and little amounts here and there. I also done a bootsale in december, then ebay items and made quite a bit of money. Thankfully hubby now in a better paid job so able to pay more debt each week and not be tempted.
My hubby and kiddies are my eyes and as long as there okay then am happy.
All the best to you and the family:A Tomorrow's just another day - keep smiling0 -
Hi John, as you can see you are not alone, don't ever think you are. I was in your position a year ago. The pressure was immense, and in a weird kind of way admitting how much you owe is a relief. I contacted CCCS and even though we owe approx £102k we are on a DMP, I am not gonna kid you, the first few months are tough, you will get calls from Creditors, although most go away when CCCS contact them, we had one that was and still is persistent. I was suicidal, and at a regular check up with my Dr, it all came out. I was on antidepressents for a few months to get me over the worst. I came off them as I didn't want to get dependant but they really did help put things in perspective.
Althought the debt is all consuming, there are so many things in life worth living for, your daughters for instance. You are obviously feeling it at the moment, but set yourself a plan of action, contact CCCS and remember you are dealing with it and should be proud that you have been brave enough to face things. It will get sorted and try and visualise a few years from now debt free. I have about 10 years to go, but my budget is not that bad to keep to and you can do it. This day and age I think we have all lost sight of the real value of money and have got ourselves into problems, the budget plan helps you to realise what you need and what you can do without. Please keep in touch and we can all help you through this.
take care. x0
