I have just got a letter from POPLA saying they have received my appeal and are waiting for ParkingEyes evidence. The appeal will be considered in about a month.

Hurray, I have just had the appeal result...

Basically, Parking eye are a bunch of bully boys who prey on the law abiding to extract money by menaces. When they are challenged they run off in the other direction.

"The assessor has considered the evidence of both parties and has determined that the appeal be allowed.

The Assessor's reasons are as set out.

The Operator should now cancel the parking charge notice forthwith.

Reasons for the Assessor's Determination:

It is the Appellant's case that the parking charge notice was issued incorrectly.

The Operator has not produced a copy of the parking charge notice, nor any evidence to show a breach of the conditions of parking occurred, nor any evidence that shows what the conditions of parking, in fact, were.

Accordingly I have no option but to allow the appeal".

That's it in a nutshell. Trouble is they also prey on ignorers and sue them, paying a law firm to turn up to hearings and relying upon a flawed (completely unsupported by case law) decision by HHJ Moloney which is going to the Court of Appeal in the Spring. Loads of people lose or get scared and pay when they miss POPLA.
